Terms
Terms of service
Last updated: May 14, 2026. Working draft pending legal review.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using OwnAdu (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Educational content, not professional advice
OwnAdu is an educational resource. We are not licensed contractors, architects, attorneys, real estate agents, or financial advisors. Content on this site, including calculators and articles, is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for advice from qualified professionals. Always consult licensed professionals for project-specific decisions.
3. Builder referrals
When we connect you with a builder, we do so as an independent referral source. We don't supervise, employ, or vouch for the quality of any builder's work. Your contract is between you and the builder. We may receive a referral fee for successful connections.
4. Calculator outputs are estimates
All cost, ROI, loan, and feasibility outputs are planning estimates, not quotes or guarantees. Actual project costs, returns, loan terms, and feasibility depend on factors specific to your property and jurisdiction. We disclaim liability for decisions made solely on calculator outputs.
5. User content
By submitting information through our forms (including calculator inputs and contact details), you grant us a license to use that information to operate the Service, improve our tools, and provide you with matched builder referrals.
6. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OWNADU AND ITS AFFILIATES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED $100.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflicts-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
9. Changes
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
